Silverlight 5.1.20913.0 does not work with Mavericks (10.9) Safari 7, Chrome, Firefox or any other numerous Mac browsers when attempting to use the NowTV.com website. No amount of fiddling with the Safari 7 Plug-ins Security settings will allow the site to work. An update is urgently required. Open the Downloads page and double-click on Silverlight.dmg. For Safari, the Downloads page is in the upper right corner of the browser. For Firefox, the Downloads page is a separate window located in the Dock. For Chrome, the Downloads page is under the Window drop-down in the upper left corner of your browser. For Mac: To uninstall Silverlight, go to Removing Silverlight plugins on Mac. After uninstalling, go to Get Microsoft Silverlight to reinstall. Note: Silverlight is not currently supported on non-Intel Mac (PowerPC processor) computers and Linux/UNIX operating systems (including Chrome OS). Locate the 'Install Silverlight' area in the lower-right part of the window. If you are running an Intel processor, click Mac Runtime next to 'Silverlight 3.' Otherwise, click Runtime for Mac PowerPC next to 'Silverlight 1.0.' After the download is completed, installation should start automatically. Follow the steps in the installation wizard. Display web pages using IE within Chrome. Use Java, Silverlight, ActiveX, Sharepoint, and more. IE Tab exactly emulates Internet Explorer, and enables you to test your web pages with different versions of IE (IE7 - IE11) Please note that IE Tab for Windows does require the use of a separate executable, ietabhelper.exe.
There are other considerations such as graphics performance and the applications you are using SOLIDWORKS for. Solid works for mac os. SOLIDWORKS cannot run directly on macOS, so first you will need to install Windows on your Mac using an application such as Boot Camp or Parallels. Browser plug-in stalwarts know about the planned move to a plugin-free web by top Internet software companies. It has become increasingly difficult to access Silverlight content in the browser with every passing year. No browser has pushed back against NPAPI plug-ins as hard as Google Chrome. In fact, the option to even enable Silverlight in Chrome was removed by Google in September of 2015. Yet some Silverlight content remains on the internet. Those who want to display it using the web’s most popular web browser are at a loss. But not a complete loss. It is still possible to use Silverlight in Chrome on Windows 10 with a free extension.

When using Chrome without IE Tab, Silverlight cannot be detected. A notice that, “You are running on a browser that may not be fully compatible with Microsoft Silverlight,” displays instead.
